Devprayag is regarded as the most complete showcase of legends, heritage & traditions. 100 km from Haridwar, here the Bhagirathi from Gaumukh & the Alaknanda from Satopanth unite and for most Indians, this confluence is no less holy than the Sangam at Allahabad. These three rivers flowing majestically through sculptured channels carved through the rocks have carved angular blocks of land around the confluence & the town is set into these three angles. Located at a height of only 618 m, Deoprayag is an invocation to the gods who have gfenerously endowed this spot with tremendous natural beauty. It is believed that Lord Rama and his father King Dashratha did penance here. The temple of Raghunathji houses a tall image of Lord Rama made of black granite. The most celebrated event at Deoprayag is the congregation of devotees, who come here to worship at Raghunath temple.

When the Alaknanda and the MandaKini, two of the most beautiful among Himalayan rivers, meet, the confluence is called Rudra Prayag. Here so says legend, the sage Narada came, hoping to complete with Shiva ( or Rudra ) in a music composition. The smug sage was humbled, however, when the nymphs of musical composition complaint about his insensitive handling of musical composition. It was here, also that Shiva's wife, Sati was reborn after her self - immolation because her father had humiliated her husband. In her new wife, as the daughter of Himalaya, she did penence here to ask the boon of Shiva as a husband once again.
Day 04 Rudrapryaj – Karanprayag (33 Kms Drive 2 -3 hrs)

the icy flow from the Pindari Glacier becomes the Pindari river, and when it meets the Alaknanda at 788 m, the confluence is known as Karnaprayag. The wooded thickets of the hills surrounding Karnaprayag were the meeting ground for Shakuntala C Raja Dushyanta, immortalised in Kalidasa's immortal classic and a favourite ballad ever since. The place derives its name from Kama, the son of the Queen Kunti and her fiery lover, Lord Surya (sun), Kama's lineage was kept a secret, but he propitiated the Sun God here, and acquired a pair of earrings & armour that made him invincible. Ultimately, he fell in the battle between the Pandavas & Kauravas, but remains a tragic hero for in life he never had the legitimacy he desired. Besides the temple dedicated to Kama, the temple dedicated to Goddess Umadevi, Narayan & Gopal stand at the confluence.
Day 05 Karanprayag – Nandprayag (35 Kms Drive 2 -3 Hrs)

The confluences of the Alaknanda and Nandakini rivers forms Nand Prayag at 914 mts. Trekkers are often seen here on their way to Tapovan across Kunwari pass, or on their way to Roopkund. This beautiful spot is a major tourist point. It is said that the confluence is named for the pious Raja Nanda who had performed a huge fire purification ceremony here. According to one legend, the king had been granted to Devaki, the imprisoned sister of the tyrant king Kansa.. Ultimately, the gods found an ingenuous if wily solution: Vishnu would be born as Krishna to Devaki but would be brought up by Nanda's wife, yashoda.
Day 06 Nandprayag – Vishnuprayag – Joshimath (40Kms Drive 2 -3 Hrs)

Formed by the confluences of the impetuous Vishnu Ganga (known, after this point, as the Alaknanda) and the Dhauliganga rivers, Vishnu Prayag, 1,372 mts. has an ancient temple here by a pool called Vishukund.. It is said that the sage Narada worshipped Vishnu at this sanctified spot, and the Lord, pleased with his austerities, had given him his blessings.
Visitors are find the Kagbhusandi lake bewitching with its emerald green depths giving it a still surface, while on the banks, blossoms evoke the colours of nature in all her glory. The lake can be approached from either Bhundar village near Ghangaria or from Vishnu Prayag.
Day 07 Joshimath – Badrinath (44 Kms Drive 4 -5 hrs)
Morning after breakfast drive to Badrinath chick in to hotel and lunch after lunch, Later at evening visit Badrinath Temple for Aarti. Over night stay at Badrinath.
Day 08 Badrinath – Mana – Joshimath (44 Kms Drive 3 -4 Hrs)

Morning breakfast after having a bath in the Taptkund have the Darshan of Badrivishal. Brahamakamal is significant for Pinddan Shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus). There are other interesting sight seeing spot like Mana, Vyas Gufa, Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund and the "Mukh" of the Saraswati River. Just within the three kms of Badrinathjee, Later drive to Joshimath. Check in Hotel. Dinner over night stay at Joshimath.
Day 09 Joshimath - Rishikesh (254 Kms Drive 6 – 7 Hrs)
Morning after breakfast drive to Rishikesh. Via Devprayag check in hotel at Rishikesh. Dinner & over night stay at rishikesh.
Day 10 Rishikesh – Delhi 250Kms Drive 5 – 6 Hrs)
